Reporting, Appeals & Ranking Transparency

Notice-and-action reporting procedures (EU Digital Services Act Art. 16), internal appeals for businesses (DSA Art. 17 & 20; P2B Regulation), and plain-language ranking parameters.

1. How to report a product, supplier, review, or message

Any visitor or registered business can report a product listing, supplier profile, buyer review, or trade message that appears unlawful, counterfeit, fraudulent, or in breach of our Acceptable Use Policy:

  1. Identify the specific product URL, supplier profile slug, review, or message thread you are reporting.
  2. Provide a sufficiently substantiated explanation of why the content violates applicable law or our Acceptable Use Policy, along with any supporting evidence.
  3. Submit your notice through your signed-in workspace report control or by emailing our DSA Notice-and-Action desk below.

2. What happens next & review timeframes

Acknowledgement: a report sent while signed in returns a reference number. A notice sent by email gets no automatic reply.

Human review: a person reviews the reported content against applicable UK/EU law and our Acceptable Use Policy.

Decision: we handle notices in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner, and tell the reporter our decision and the remedies available.

3. Statement of reasons & how a business can appeal

Whenever we restrict visibility, suspend, or remove a product listing, review, message, or organization account, we provide the affected business or user with a clear Statement of Reasons explaining the facts, legal or policy ground, and territorial scope.

Six-month appeal window: Affected suppliers and buyers may lodge a free electronic appeal within 6 months of receiving a moderation or verification decision.

Human review: a person reviews every appeal, and an appeal is never decided by automated means alone. If the appeal succeeds, the listing or account status is restored.

Out-of-court settlement & P2B redress: Submitting an internal appeal does not affect your right to refer a dispute to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body (DSA Art. 21) or to seek judicial redress under the UK/EU Platform-to-Business (P2B) Regulation.

4. How listings are ranked (P2B Regulation Art. 5)

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 (P2B Regulation), the main parameters determining how products and suppliers are ranked on Amya.africa are:

Search results

Ranked by relevance to the buyer's query: keyword matching (typos, word proximity, which field matched, exactness) blended with multilingual meaning similarity. Supplier verification level is a filter the buyer chooses, not a ranking boost.

Category & directory pages

By default, category and directory listings are ordered chronologically by publication date (newest first) unless the buyer explicitly selects price ascending or price descending sorting or filters by country, verification status, or MOQ.

Sponsored placements

Suppliers may purchase clearly labelled 'Sponsored' promotional slots in category, home, or search headers. Sponsored cards are always visually badged and never alter the organic ranking order of non-sponsored search or directory results.
